"Summer ends and autumn arrives. But with the passing of seasons, so do the passing of lives. And so we must cherish every moment, as if it were our last." (Unknown)
Hello, my lovely friends!
So, it seems like summer has decided to throw us a curveball. One minute we're sweltering in the heat, and the next, we're bundled up in sweaters. It's like Mother Nature couldn't decide whether to be a fiery diva or a cozy grandmother.
Speaking of Mother Nature, my garden is having a bit of an identity crisis. On one hand, there's the lettuce, tomatoes, and peppers that are still thriving like it's the middle of July. They're growing at a remarkable pace, their leaves lush and green, their fruits plump and juicy. It's as if they're oblivious to the changing seasons, determined to soak up every last bit of summer's warmth.
On the other hand, the leaves of the surrounding trees are beginning to turn vibrant hues of yellow, orange, and red. The birds are chirping less frequently, their songs replaced by the distant honking of geese as they prepare for their annual migration. It's a stark contrast to the exuberant growth of my garden, a reminder that the seasons are indeed changing.
As summer fades into autumn, a bittersweet sense of nostalgia washes over me. I'll miss the lazy days spent lounging in the sun, the warm nights filled with fireflies and laughter, and the endless bounty of fresh produce from my garden. But I'm also eager to embrace the cozy charm of autumn, with its crisp air, colorful leaves, and the promise of new adventures.
I'll miss the carefree days of summer, when the only worry was whether to wear shorts or a sundress. I'll miss the sound of cicadas buzzing in the trees, the smell of freshly cut grass, and the taste of juicy watermelon. But as the seasons change, I know that there's a beauty in the transition. Autumn brings with it a sense of renewal and possibility, a chance to start fresh and embrace the new.
I'm looking forward to the cozy evenings spent curled up with a good book and a cup of tea, the crisp autumn walks through the woods, and the delicious seasonal treats like pumpkin pie and apple cider. I'm also excited to see how my garden will transform as the leaves change color and the temperatures drop. It's a bittersweet farewell to summer, but I'm ready to embrace the magic of autumn.
My garden has been more than just a plot of land; it has been a sanctuary, a teacher, and a friend, offering me peace, valuable lessons, and joy. It has taught me patience, as I've learned to wait for the fruits of my labor to ripen. It has shown me the importance of perseverance, as I've overcome challenges like pests and unexpected weather. And it has filled my heart with gratitude for the beauty and abundance of nature.
The garden has also been a source of comfort and solace. It has provided me with a quiet space to reflect, relax, and connect with the natural world. The sight of vibrant flowers, the smell of fresh herbs, and the sound of birdsong have all contributed to my sense of well-being. I am grateful for the lessons I have learned from my garden, and I am excited to see what the future holds.
So glad you could stop by! Wishing you a splendid rest of your day/evening/morning, wherever you may be.
Until next time! Adios...
I do love Autumn and everything that goes with it . . . except the season that follows. BUT, admittedly, every season has it's own beauty. Right now I'm enjoying the last of the garden, then changing color of the trees, and the smells of autumn!
ReplyDeleteHere's to a terrific Tuesday.

I'm a winter person at heart, but fall is slowly winning me over. The warm colors and flavors are irresistible. You can truly feel the season shift in the air and outside. Even my garden is thriving, though I'll need to do some research on caring for my strawberry plant. It returned this year, but unfortunately, no fruit has appeared yet.

Changing of the seasons, as with changes in life, is filled with many emotions. Enjoy the season's change. 🍂🤗💖
ReplyDeleteI’m loving the changing colors and cooler weather. It’s so nice to have a break from yard work! Seasonal changes always seem to stir up emotions. Sending you warm wishes and hope you’re doing well. Thinking of you.

It's Kathy. I love how you love your garden. That's how I feel about mine - even though it's been a few years now. I so hope that next spring my back will be healed and I can plant all that I want to plant! We are still in the high 80's but fall is coming - by Sunday it will be in the low 70's! I can't wait. I hope to be able to take a trip North to see the fall colors but we'll see. I still can't walk more than a short distance at a time. But given this seems to be a late fall, maybe!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm planning to grow a larger garden next year, but I'll definitely keep some plants in my current containers. I hope you'll be able to start a garden too; I know you enjoy it. It's great that the weather's cooling down this week. We might even have temperatures in the 70s by the weekend. I'd love to take a trip to the mountains to see the fall colors change.
