It's Changing

"Do not allow people to dim your shine because they are blinded. Tell them to put some sunglasses on." (Lady Gaga)

Hello, my lovely friends!

Despite the lingering summer heat, there's an undeniable sense of autumn creeping closer. The air carries a distinct, crisp aroma, and the leaves are beginning to show their vibrant hues. I've been eagerly anticipating the end of summer, and with each passing day, I find myself growing more excited for the cool, cozy days ahead.

They keep promising afternoon showers, but the days pass and the sky remains stubbornly clear. It’s been a parched summer here, and the once vibrant plants and flowers are wilting. The only respite I’ve had is a handful of ripe Roma and cherry tomatoes last week. It’s uncertain how much of a harvest I’ll reap this year, but at least something is growing.

Today, we're going to visit my grandparents and dad at the cemeteries. It's been too long since we've been to both, and I can tell my mom's been feeling the pull. I know it's a strange thing, but I always find both comfort and unease in these visits. It's a bittersweet experience, but I think it will be good for all of us.

I have some fantastic news! My sister is planning a visit in October. I’m so excited to see her. Of course, I’ve been trying to convince Mom to join her and give me a much-needed break. It’s her favorite season over there, so I thought it would be the perfect time for a trip. While she’s still hesitant, I’m not giving up hope. I think it would be wonderful for both of us. I’ll keep you updated on my progress.

So glad you could stop by! Wishing you a splendid rest of your day/evening/morning, wherever you may be.

Until next time! Adios...
