"Nothing is more important than empathy for another human being's suffering. Nothing. Not career, not wealth, not intelligence, certainly not status. We have to feel for one another if we're going to survive with dignity." (Audrey Hepburn)
Hello my lovely friends!
I love this poem because I believe that it speaks to the journey that we all take in our lives. There will come a time when you are standing at that fork in the road and trying to decide which road to take. This is the perfect time to think of how you want your 2024 to look for yourself. The newness of the start of a new year has wore off and some of those resolutions you made might already be broken. Take this weekend to put that reasonable plan together of what you want to get out of 2024.
The Road Not Taken (Robert Frost)
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
I wish you a good morning, afternoon or evening wherever you are.
Talk soon…
The road less traveled usually has the most interesting people and sights.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! 🤗❤️
It really is. It's a good thing I don't like to follow what others do.

I love Robert Frost. This one, and "Stopping by Wood on a Snowy Evening" are among my favorites, memorized as a child, and muttered to self while shoveling snow.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good one too. That is one way to memorize something.

Definitely I have always been one to take the road less traveled. Thanks for sharing!
