It's SO Hot

Hello my lovely friends!

OMG! It is so hot outside and it’s barely 9a.m., UGH! You all know I really hate the heat and everything that comes with it. The only thing I really like about the summer is grilling outside. You can take the heat, the bugs, the crazy weather and take it all away. Yesterday it was 97 in Denver and today it should be 99, but to me anything over 90 is hot. Am I right? We are on this thing with our power company that to save energy they will turn our A/C off when too many people are using it. We do get a credit back each year for it, but the problem is when we have it on is when everyone else is using it and we get kicked out within the hour. What I try to do is turn it on in the morning and let the temp go way down and keep all the curtain closed to keep it cool all day. Plus, my Dad had a huge swamp cooler on wheels from work that we took upstairs and when we get kicked out we can turn that on. Last night it was really hot and I even got Scooter wet with the squirt bottle and he wasn’t happy about that at first until he realized how cool he was.

I found out that there is a HUGE farmer’s market at the shopping center we live about ten minutes away from on Saturday mornings. I do like that we have a community one, but honestly there are only about five to six booths and only one that sells veggies. The other one has windows, microgreens and face painting. It really isn’t that big. The same veggie farmer will be there for the $10 bags. It’s also going to be rainy and cloudy that day and in the 70’s, so we’ll check it out.

We manage to straighten up the gym room. It had a lot of boxes from my Mom in there and we just cleaned a lot of the stuff out. She wants to start riding the exercise bike in there and that will help out with her knees. She also wants to wake up earlier and go for a morning walk, my parents use to do that in the morning. I think it will be good for all of us and Scooter can get a walk in because he does know how to walk on a lease.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

I wish you a good morning, afternoon or evening wherever you are.

Talk Soon, Adios...

  1. The farmers' market sounds grand. The heat is horrible in so many states. 🤗💖

  2. Yes, ma'am, fighting the heat downhill from you, too. Yesterday we topped out at 102F, with a "feels like" of 110 in the shade. Doing all I can to help Ember with it, because she WANTS to be outside, but outside is just so hot!

  3. YES! I do not do well in scorching heat, either. And the 90’s qualifies in my book! I grew up w/o air conditioning and don’t know how I did it!

Hope you make it to the farmer’s mkt.

Awesome that you Mom is looking to increase her activity. Good for her.

Stay as cool as you can!

    1. I feel like I'm melting with this heat. Is it winter yet? My mom is working hard to get better.

  4. It's Kathy. I agree, anything over 90 is HOT! We just got back from a visit with my daughter's family in Roanoke - we drove and the temp that the car registered was anywhere from 95 to 101. It's cooling off here in Minnesota, thankfully. Daisy knows how to keep cool - she lays by the A/C vent. I keep the temperature around 76 and use a fan when I'm in the living room. I only turn it higher if I'm cooking. Sounds like you have a good plan!

    1. Daisy has the right idea, just lay by the vent. Hopefully it cools down for all of us. I always turn the A/C on when cooking.

Have a great day! (((BIG HUGS)))
