A Little Patience and Understanding

"Transformation happens when you dare to be awakened to greater heights. When you stay open no matter what. Letting each experience, especially the tough ones, strengthen you and add depth and wisdom." (Oprah Winfrey)

Hello, my lovely friends!

Most of us already have some negative talk within ourselves, but there are other people with the negative attitudes, rude remarks and other bad behaviors can have a direct effect on the way our attitude is. You know someone who is always negative and that can bring you down. How do you get around that? Here's a couple of things that I do...

1. Ignore them. Of course you can't ignore everyone, but let's use the example of the internet if someone send you negative or bully type of remarks trying to reason with a negative person like that will never work. Don't take what people say about you personally because they don't know you and probably get some sick and twisted thrill of being so mean to people. They enjoy being mean to people.

2. If you can avoid the person then do just that. If its family you can't avoid family gatherings where they might be. If you can distance yourself from them, you can be kind and just say hello, but chit chat is out of the question.

3. Remember your worst day ever? When you're waiting in line and somebody is not fast enough for you or they don't seem so upbeat, think back to that awful day you had and it could be just exactly what kind of day they are having. Especially when shopping, nothing is worse than seeing someone belittle another person in front of tons of other people, it’s just wrong and now that person has to turn around and act like nothing happened. Be a little patient and understanding with people.

4. Take a deep breath and zone out for a moment. If you feel like you’re ready to go to that negative place, take a deep breath and just remember it’s not the end of the world.

Having a little more patience and understanding with others as well as with yourself can make your world a better place for you. It can also help feed your soul.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

I wish you a good morning, afternoon or evening wherever you are.

Until next time… Adios!

  1. Great advice! It is definitely harder w/family, but . . . as you say, best to be polite, maybe even say hello, but not engage.

And for sure, always put yourself in some else's shoes. Remember how YOU feel when you're having a bad day. We all have them.

That said, I hope YOU are having a good day (and your Mom and Scooter, too).

  4. It's Kathy. Good tips. My negative nelly is my dear husband. Someone once told me that my husband see's the glass half empty. He can see the down side of pretty much everything. Although maybe he's changed over the years! I'd like to think so!
