How are you holding up in all this crazy heat? We actually caught a lucky break the last couple of days with some evening rain, which definitely helped cool things down a bit. I'm really hoping today's cool enough to tackle some of those pesky weeds outside. Whatever you're up to, just make sure you're staying nice and cool!
Oh my gosh, speaking of getting outside, I finally got some veggie plants into pots! I was, yet again, a bit late to the game and didn't get them in until the end of June. But honestly, with how our weather has been, I'm pretty sure they'll be just fine, maybe even thriving, all the way through October. I mostly planted hardier greens that love the cooler weather, so I've got my fingers crossed for a great harvest.
Did you get a chance to plant anything this year? I'd love to hear what you've been growing!
This Saturday is the day! My mom called the lawn service, and the whole crew is coming to tackle our yard. It's been a real struggle this year, so I'm so happy to finally get some help. They're going to trim the trees, spray for weeds, and we're even starting to get rid of some of the grass in the front.
I've been out there trying to get it cleaned up before they arrive, which I know sounds a little funny—cleaning your yard before the lawn service starts, right? My mom has been a huge help, too; she's been able to get some of the weeds, which really makes a difference.
So glad you stopped by! Wishing you the coziest morning/afternoon/evening ahead. Can't wait for our paths to cross again!

This heat wave is brutal! Just think...in a few months, the complaints about snow and ice will begin...at least on this end they will. 😉 Stay cool. Drink plenty of water. 💖🤗
ReplyDeleteYes, we had a few really nice days but the heat is back today. Bet you are looking forward to those lawn guys coming and how great everything is going to look once they are done. I am not growing anything again this year but I am having a great time with this plant app that tells me all about the plants, trees and bushes on my morning walk. Stay cool, my friend and huge hugs.
ReplyDeleteIt's Kathy. We're having a very challenging week and yesterday several storms came through with more rain than I've seen in awhile. My garden is planted but I'm having a hard time keeping the weeds out. My tomatoes are doing well, beans and peas are showing signs of being ready to produce. The zucchini and cucumbers are really slow although I haven't been out there in a couple of days. The heat has been unbearable. I would love a lawn service - my husband mows the lawn but it's mostly weeds now and I just can't keep up. Looking forward to hearing how your veggies are coming along!
ReplyDeleteSounds good that you and your Mom are getting help. I have not had time to do much gardening between caring for Jason and then I fractured my left hip on 09 July. *SIGH* Not what was needed, but I guess nobody asked me. Doing all right, though.
