Habits... Have You Made One Yet?

"Raise the bar! Set tiny goals for yourself, and as you meet them, set more. The sky is the limit!"  (Denise Austin)

Hello, my lovely friends!

You know, they say it takes 21 days to form a habit. Can you believe it's already day 21 of 2025? Crazy, right?

Have you been able to stick to any healthy habits yet? Or are you still working on it like me? I know a lot of people will try to keep up their healthy habits tomorrow, but others might give up. This is a really important time to decide which path you're going to take. Let's not be part of the group that quits before February even starts!

Every New Year, we make those resolutions, buy that new diet book or workout DVD, and sign up for a gym membership. We tell ourselves, "This is the year!" Once we have those resolutions in our heads, we go all out. We buy all the fresh fruits and veggies, get rid of all the "unhealthy" snacks in the kitchen, and read everything we can find about dieting, exercising, and healthy eating. We set ourselves up for success, and we're ready to go!

But then... life happens. We miss a workout here and there, or we choose that cheeseburger and fries instead of the healthy option. We tell ourselves we blew it for the day and end up making unhealthy choices for the rest of the day. As the days go by, we either keep up with our goals or start to fall off track. Some people hit a wall and can't seem to break through, while others just keep going.

Nobody wants to fail, but sometimes those negative voices in our heads start to creep in. They tell us we can't do it or that we're not good enough. The pressure and frustration build up, and eventually, we just give up.

Why do we accept that we are failures in our lives?

Why do we give up?

Why do we allow the negative voices in our heads win?

Why?

Why??

Why???

Let's talk about how to stop those nagging questions from popping up all the time. First things first, don't give up on yourself! When we start slacking off, it's like we're slowly giving up on our own dreams.

You know how sometimes negative thoughts creep in? Well, you have the power to shut that door and invite positive vibes in instead. Don't let anyone, including yourself, bring you down. You're stronger than that!

I know it's easier said than done, but trust me, it's totally possible. We often blame others for how we feel about ourselves, giving them way too much power. But guess what? NO ONE should have power over you!

I've heard people say things like "I feel this way because someone told me so." But why let someone else control how you feel? Take back your power! You deserve it. You're amazing, powerful, and worthy of all the good things.

Now, I know these words might not feel true right now, but that's where the real work begins. Start believing in yourself. You can make new habits in just 21 days, and you can break old ones too.

Focus on each day, one step at a time. Hitting a wall is okay, we all do it. Just make a healthier choice and keep that positive mindset going.

Maybe it sounds a little crazy, but dancing around or talking to yourself in the mirror can actually help you break through those walls. Anything that works, right? You've got this!

Thank you for stopping by! Wishing you a day/evening/morning filled with sunshine, laughter, and perhaps a little bit of magic. Until next time, ta-ta for now!
