"You can't change all that is wrong in this great big world, but you can have an impact, even if it is just a tiny, positive impact on a stranger that receives a smile from you on the street today. There's so much we can do for others, and in the end, what we do for others ends up benefiting us tenfold. So, let's do this. Let's make our little worlds amazing today." (Craig Ballantyne)
Hello, my lovely friends!
This past week, Mother Nature has been a bit indecisive, giving us a taste of all four seasons! We had daily downpours, and the mountains even got some bonus snow. Honestly, yesterday was the first dry day we've seen in a week! All this natural irrigation means I haven't had to turn on the sprinklers, but I suppose that streak has to end now.
Ever poured your heart and soul into something, only for it to vanish into thin air? Yeah, that just happened to me. An hour of blogging, poof! All gone. Feeling a little like I just wrestled a ghost.
So let’s try this again. I still can’t believe I did that.
Well, thanks to all this rain keeping me cooped up, the weeds have officially declared independence and formed their own little jungle out there! My plan for Monday? Total weed-whacking domination! Good thing we've got that new city compost bin now, because there's going to be a lot of yard waste.
My big summer outdoor mission, though, is tackling the trees. They're looking a bit wild and really need a good trim to get healthy. I've never really pruned anything before, so wish me luck! As for flowers, Mom's not feeling a nursery run, but I've got a stash of seeds, so I'm just going to toss 'em in pots and see what botanical magic happens!
So glad you stopped by! Wishing you the coziest morning/afternoon/evening ahead. Can't wait for our paths to cross again!
I am sure the seeds will look just as lovely in the planters. Good luck with the trimming and weed wacking, sure going to get your upper body workout. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteThe jungle happens quickly. Good luck tackling the it. Flowers in pots...allow for rearrangement and placement by color. I'm sure however you landscape, it will be gorgeous. 🤗💖
ReplyDeleteIt's Kathy. The first 3 days of this week were rainy, but no downpours - just light rain ever couple of hours or so. Enough that getting outside was not possible. Now we've got heat - but that ends Tuesday when more rain comes. Yes, the rain means we don't have to water but personally, I really need to get my garden bed finished. After not doing anything to it at all last year, it's full of weeds, both dead and growing, moss which comes up in clumps, and a lot of creeping charlie. I only have about 20% of it left and I hope to get that done before the rain comes again! Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteWell, sounds like you're keeping busy. Mother Nature really hasn't decided which way to go w/the weather here, either. But . . . nothing bad, so it's all right!
